Molyvos is an incredibly beautiful place on the island and you should definatly visit it and we would highly recommend that you also stay there or at Petra for a night. Molyvos is also been refered to Mythimna, so dont get confused with it.
Molyvos is a very picturesque place with very nice hotels, bars, a good beach, nice small stores and restaurants. Its a very traditional place but also luxurious. Also for those of you that would be keen to party there are clubs that go until the next morning the most famous one is called Congas. In addition Molyvos has a very nice Castle that worths seeing and more intresting stuff around it as Eftalou, Petra, and Skala Skamnion, which we will detail further :)
Eftalou is a the beach part near Molyvos, there you have maybe the deepest and coldest waters of the wholde island, but it is awesome. In case you have not get used to swim on a cold water, trust me when I say you should try it!
The best beach to go in Eftalou is Xrisi Akti (Golden Beach)which you can see bellow:
In addition to an awesome beach there are several restaurants with nice views so you can have some ouzo after your swim.
Another spotlight at Eftalou are the Springs, for which you will see labels on the street, you can find more information about them here:
The spring water place is small so it is recommended for your enjoyment to go off pick (Tuesday Morning instead of Sunday midday)
This part of the Island until Sigri and Ereso is part of the petrified forester and therefore it has a volcanic landscape, even if the main petrified forest is at Sigri.
When you are in the area you should drive towards the village named Vafeios to have a dinner in one of the tavernas on the main road up on the hill and see the spectacular sunset

At Petra, you also can stay,eat, enjoy the beach and visit the Rock.
Something close to that area which you may want to visit first or last depending in how you drive is the village called Sykamineas/Skamnia and the small port Skalla Sykamineas/Skaminon.
As you can tell the view of that small chucrch on the rock is amazing, and thats something that you can see in the port of Sykamineas. You could also depeding you schedule can visit the actual village of Sykamineas, and go to eat or just enjoy the view with a local cheespie
