Mantamados

Mantamados is very famous village in Mytilini for two things mainly, pottery and the Monastery of Archangel, both of which diverse your attention.

When you are in the area make a visit to the Monastery of Archangel, its a very beautiful place and a very important monestary for the Greek orthdox and the military, as Archangel is Greek orthodox is the protector of the armed forces, so when you see an military airplane outside the church don't be surprised. After you visit the church before you leave make a stop and enjoy one of the best loukoumades in the island - yammy!

As you will be driving into the village think of taking a break and have some Greek cofee, thats always nice and see the potery shops around you. Speaking of potery dear guests that you come from all over the world we would like to share with you where you could go to see a traditional potery shop and see how they make it (thats the real thing) this is Dimittris Kouvadis shop  which you can find here:

If you go down the Kouvadis potery place you are very close to the most exotic beach on the island and tha is Kamila (Camel). Now thats a tricky one, you cannot access the beach with the car you need to park to the rocky road - yes is a rocky situation there - and then walk down the path. You can see in the google maps that is a line between the road and the beach thats what you need to walk.

Fish, you are in mytilini you should be eating some fisheyballs, octapus and drink some ouzo. So after you go to the beach Kamila stop to the first port you see on a small village or if you are coming from the main road it is the first small fisching viallage on the rocky road.  Which is probably here:

I am afraid thats the best directions I can give, you need to find the rest.. and a last hint the taverna is called "Ta Xalikia" (Gravel). I hope you find if you do you will be very happy, make sure you take a big fish.
